C64
During 1981 the C64 computer was developed to its end and was released. Around 1984-85 its popularity grew and it started to reach the homes. The C64 was the computer. Already around 1984 games where made for the C64 but the best ones came around 1985, naturally since most people had that computer that was the computer software developers went for. Because more software and ofcourse games came out more and more people at home became interested. Among the masses of games that came were a number of pinballs. Among the most popular pinballs were david's midnight magic (1985) and Nightmission (1982). Nightmission has a little of cult status among game historians today. At least many C64 entusiasts remember that title and DMM when you today ask them about pinballs for the C64.
Nightmission Even tough David's might be a something, this is something. Nightmission was the probably alltime best pinball that hitted the c64 in the eye. screenshot Funny construction set, kind a amusing thing to do constructing a pinball of your own. Not the best program to use to do such things but kind a neat ;).One of the editors of these days is almost as good, I'm talking about the one from 21st century with almost the same name (note the Irony and btw. is it really a coincident they have the same name). screenshot This game is not at all to bad, you can adjust ballspeed, the balls flies funny of course but is amusing. screenshot David's MM was and is a very popular pinball both when it came, and now as a classic, it just has that onetime feeling (you just can't help liking it). Created by: David Snider | Creators homepage Table screenshot | Scan of box cover The second kit I found, very hard to figure out how to use. It might help if you speak french since the only version of the game I found was in french. It also includes a editor. table screenshot | editor screenshot Fun game, you shoot the ball with a little gun instead of using flippers to shoot it with. I like it... screenshot This is probably the only 3D Pinball for the c64 and it is quite good too. It was kind a amusing too see that the PC wasn't first with 3D ;). screenshot A decent and actually rather good pinball. Shift keys are used to flip with and right arrow to launch. The table looks rather weird but the ball moves quite nice! Now this is a pinball game of the c64, the balls goes trough the walls and seems to miss hundreds of bytecodes =). Nice game, haven't got it dated. screenshot A "different" pinball, it is scrolling not one that is just half a screen. I don't think there was so many more scrolling pinballs that this one. The table is also very high, at least 4-5... screens and that is no lie. The game has many bugs, but I guess it is a kind of a charm. screenshot Haven't found any versions of the game, just giving out the name here.
